According to http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Nidoran%E2%99%82_%28Pok%C3%A9mon%29 Nidoran is a small, porcupine - like Pokémon with big ears, front teeth and red eyes. Nidoran is covered with spines primarily on his back which can release potent poisons if Nidoran is threatened. Yikes!
